GEDC works to establish non-traditional leadership development programs to train minority populations to assume greater leadership responsibilities in the community. Leadership seminars are conducted over a nine month period covering a variety of topics critical to Greensboro's growth. These programs involve:
Training grassroots leaders in areas such as economic development, local government, and law enforcement, communications, leadership, and the roles of volunteeers in community programs.
Creating a means for placing trained graduates on a variety of boards and committees.
Facilitating development of leadership pograms in other geographic locations
Matching alumin with active community volunteers currently serving on boards and committees.
